I am a life-long broadcaster, continuous student of marketing and new media early adaptor. I have spent most of my career telling stories through digital media.
I have managed media outlets in all 4 time-zones, hosted a talk show and serve as a corporate programming (content) leader.
My media career began in my hometown market of Augusta Maine at WABK-FM. What a thrill to work beside Central Maine icons Don Brown, Ryan Cote and Marc Jackson.
Those guys took me under their wing and I will always be appreciative of the time they spent mentoring a kid who had to scrape money together to buy studio quality headphones (which they didn’t sell at K-Mart)
In the late 90’s, I began working with a few radio stations on a project basis – offering strategic and marketing advice. From there, I dabbled in TV production – winning a “Telly” in 2005.
My career has been filled with great mentors including the late Charles Giddens in Florida; Dave Beasing in Reno, Tracy Johnson in Salt Lake City and Rick Belcher, Carl Gardner, Dan Vallie and Mike Donovan in Milwaukee. These are people who give back to the business on a regular basis.
I have tried to return the favor by participating in as many industry events as I can – both as a student and teacher. I regularly attend Conclave in Minneapolis and CRS in Nashville. I also have attended the Morning Show Boot Camp on numerous occasions – always finding myself caught up in a lively discussion or two.
I have also coached youth sports and Destination Imagination taking 2 DI teams to the Massachusetts state tournament at WPI.
